The Care and Keeping of Your Suit

Properly caring for and storing your suit is vital to its longevity.

keep your suit looking and smelling fresh

!! never use heat on  a suit it will irreversibly damage the fur!!

Post Wear Care:

Disinfecting your suit after every wear no matter how long you wore it or how little you sweat is the key to making sure you're never "that one suiter

We suggest using a fursuit spray based with isopropyl alcohol. You can make your own at home using a 70 or 90 percent isopropyl. For a 70 percent use a 3 to one ratio of the alcohol and water. For 90 use half the amount of isopropyl.

Make sure to not get it on the eyes or over saturate the suit -as it'll cause the acrylic paint to bleed off the eye mesh and can dissolve the glue and fabrics used.

Brushing: Use a slicker brush backwards to avoid ripping out the fur fibbers and causing balding. Brush after heavy wear or when fur looks messy, especially in high friction zones like the armpits and crotch to avoid matting

Washing:

Each part of a suit needs cared for differently due to how wear affects them and the difference in how they're crafted

Heads-

Each head will need different care based on a few different factors. If your head has non-removable electronics such as fans it is vital you do NOT get it fully wet

To wash your head start by covering the eyes with small towels or plastic to keep them dry as we do not have the ability to make water proof eyes at this time.  We recommend filling a container with water and a mild laundry detergent (do not use woolite it will damage the plastic fur). Using either a small upholstery cleaner or a rag gently clean the areas that collect the most sweat or come into direct contact with your skin. follow up with a clean wet rag to rinse out the detergent, keep going over the head after rinsing the rang until you are sure there is no detergent left as it will cause a greasy residue if not fully rinsed out.

drying: place the head in a well ventilated area with good air flow, or ideally place in front of a fan or two. Gently brush the fur every few hours as it dries to ensure it dries in the correct direction. Wait until fully dry to wear or store as storing a head with even a little moisture can cause bacteria and mildew to grow in the foam and fabric

Body Suits-

all of our suits are machine washable, however, most machines cannot handle the weight of a fursuit. We also do not recommend washing in a machine with an agitator as the suit can wrap around it and get torn due to the weight

To machine wash your suit, start by Turing it inside out and zipping it. Put your detergent in first as the dyes can stain your suit. Wash on a cold gentle cycle and an extra spin

To wash HAND WASH your body start by filling a bathtub or large tub with cold water and a mild detergent just deep enough to completely cover the suit. turn your body suit inside out and check for any damaged seams. If any are found take care to not strain them while washing, if the damage is due to a mistake on our end please refer to your warranty and contact us,

Place the inside out body suit into the water and gently agitate by hand. take care to give high sweat areas extra attention. drain THE TUB AND REPEAT TWO TO THREE TIMES DEPENDING ON HOW SOILED YOUR SUIT IS. RINSE WITH COLD WATER USING THE SAME METHOD OF HAND AGITATION.

drying: to dry your suit you have two options, after squeezing out as much water as possible. if your dryer has a no heat cycle the suit can be placed in the dryer and ran for about a 70 min cycle, brush and repeat until suit is dry

if you do not have a no heat dryer place the suit over two to three chairs making sure it's not drooping as this can stretch out your suit and strain the seams. place in a well ventilated area with as much air flow as possible. make sure to periodically brush to keep  fur in the right direction

Handpaws and Tails-

If your suit has a zipper to remove stuffing start there. Repeat process as body suits. if your paws have resin or 3d printed claws place them in a laundry bag to prevent them from getting damaged if machine washing

Feetpaws-

for feet paws there's two options, you can either submerge them or use an upholstery cleaner

start by brushing your paws and hand cleaning the bottoms to remove any debris regardless of method used

for upholstery cleaners: use the same detergent as the rest of the suit and cold water passing over the paws until saturated. use the vacuum to remove the soapy water and dirt. empty and repeat with clean plain water, take care to remove all detergent

For submersion: Fill a tub large enough to fit the paws about half way with water and detergent and place feet paws in. Gently massage and squish feet paws. rinsie and repeat until clean

drying: squeeze or vacuum OUT AS MUCH WATER AS POSSIBLE. PLACE THE PAWS ON A TOWEL INFRONT OF A FAN. BRUSH PERIODICALLTY
